This volume contains records from four British government departments—the Dominions Office, Commonwealth Relations Office, Foreign Office, and Treasury—that put this decline and its implications for the post-war order in context.
The records, which cover the period 1945–1961, largely focus on India, the Dominions (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Newfoundland, and South Africa), and the Commonwealth.
