Collection: Establishing the Post-War International Order, 1944–1961 Volumes Documents relating to post-war commodities, inc. prices, 1945-1961
Commodities and commodity prices played an important role in the post-war economic boom. This volume contains records from eight British government departments—the Admiralty, Board of Trade, Cabinet Office, Foreign Office, Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Fuel and Power, and Treasury—that explain their impact in the context of wider micro- and macroeconomic trends. The records cover the period 1945–1961.
The three main types of commodities—agricultural or soft (corn, cotton, beans, rice, wheat, etc.), energy (coal, crude oil, natural gas, gasoline, etc.), and metals (silver, gold, platinum, copper, etc.)—are all included.

We recommend trying the following:
- Try a different combination of terms and queries to try and match your result.
- Use 'themes' or 'subjects' directly in your search query, e.g. "19th century colonial administration Africa" - 'Africa' being the broad subject.
- Try using the advanced search facility.
