This volume contains miscellaneous papers compiled by Vaughan during the period 1825-1842. The majority of the items are newspaper clippings from the time of Vaughan's ambassadorship. Anglo-American relations, American domestic politics, the American economy, American military matters, American tariffs, the North East boundary, the Oregon question, and West Indian trade are all covered. Various printed materials, including the selected writings of Robert Owen, leaflets written by Joseph Lancaster, and observations on the Treaty of Washington by George W. Featherstonhaugh, are also included.
