Collection: Colonial Law in Africa, 1808–1919 Volumes Zambia (Northern Rhodesia), 1899–1919
This volume consists of the gazettes published in Northern Rhodesia from 1899–1919. They were titled British Central Africa Gazette until the end of 1902. This gazette's title continue to change as the colony's borders shifted. Regular records of appointments and departures begin in 1906. The gazettes cover a range of topics, but land sales and surveys, court records, and the postal system are a core concern throughout. The records in this document cover the death of King Edward VII (1910), the smallpox outbreak of 1912, and the First World War.
