This volume includes a range of government reports related to corporations and boards in Southern Rhodesia dated between 1926 to 1980. The names of the corporations, boards, councils, and authorities featured in this volume are mostly self-explanatory. Financial assistance to keep white farmers on the land is covered in the reports of the Land and Agricultural Bank, Agricultural Assistance Board, and Agricultural Finance Corporation. Attempts to attract white immigrants and settle them on the land can be uncovered in the reports of the Land Settlement Boards. The Native Land Board reports from 1931 to 1936, reproduced here, are continued in the Reports of the Native Commissioner, amongst the Administrative Records portion of this collection. The Unreserved Land Board, 1961-1962, sold a limited amount of land to people regardless of race. The Constitutional Council endeavoured to stem the flow of racially discriminatory legislation emanating from the Rhodesian Front Government. The Silicosis Board and its successor, the Pneumoconiosis Board, were formed in response to the health hazards of mining.
