This volume includes a range of government reports related to transport and public works in Southern Rhodesia dated between 1897 to 1980. Reports upon public works are included here, with a few breaks, from 1897 to 1963; also, a report by the Controller of Works was published for 1972/73. Reports on transport, included here, were reclassified as Central Mechanical Equipment between 1948 and 1963. Roads reports cover the years 1900-1980. Reports on the railways cover the years 1927-1980; the Railway Commission of Southern Rhodesia, Northern Rhodesia and the Bechuanaland Protectorate issued reports from 1927/28 until 1949 when the statutes under which they were appointed were repealed. The Beira and Rhodesia railways issued reports from 1939/40 to 1946/47 and Rhodesia railways would continue to produce reports from 1947/48 until 1979-80. Civil Aviation reports appeared from 1930-1960, including Federal Government reports from 1954/55 until 1960/61.
