Collection: Scottish Women's Suffrage Movement, 1902–1933 Volumes Executive Committee Minute Books, 1902 - 1933
The primary concern of these minutes is upon getting equal voting rights for women. These records enable the reader to trace the development of the campaign, from getting electoral candidates to pledge to support suffrage, through the battle to get the Parliamentary debate scheduled before the end of the Parliament, to the lobbying for an equal voting age. The secondary objective of the Society, getting more women elected to local authority boards and Town Councils, also features, as funds and resources are found to assist those women who are standing for election. The by-election policy controversy manifests itself through resignation letters.
