Natural Resources - Arable and Animal Husbandry 1909-1965
Collection: Malawi Under Colonial Rule, in Government Reports, 1907–1967 Volumes Natural Resources - Arable and Animal Husbandry 1909-1965
The large number of reports which are grouped here rather belie the scarcity and poverty of Nyasaland's natural resources. The most extensive are Agriculture, Veterinary, and the Geological Survey. From 1944 onwards the Agriculture reports are divided in two, with Part II generally being devoted to Experimental Work. The early Agriculture reports also include some coverage of Veterinary and Forestry work, which later became separate reports. Natural Resources with regard to Arable and Animal Husbandry is a broad category which incorporporates reports upon the Provincial Natural Resources Board, Agriculture, Agricultural Production and Marketing Board, Veterinary, Animal Husbandry Research, Game, Fish and Tsetse Control, Fisheries Research, Tea Research Station, Lands and Survey, and Forestry.

Whilst we try our best to extract as much usable and searchable as possible, our primary resource collections have varying levels of available metadata and searchable OCR'd text depending on the nature of the document; please bear this in mind when searching, especially when looking for older resources. We recommend trying the following:
- Try a different combination of terms and queries to try and match your result.
- Use 'themes' or 'subjects' directly in your search query, e.g. "19th century colonial administration Africa" - 'Africa' being the broad subject.
- Try using the advanced search facility.
- Use a broader search and use the filters on the left-hand side to refine your results.
