This volume contains materials relating to the armed forces and defence, published by the Ministry of Information (MOI) and the Central Office of Information (COI) during the period 1914-2001. While most items date from the Second World War and the Cold War, a small number were issued by the Propaganda Bureau or Department of Information during the First World War.
A wide range of subjects are covered, from recruitment and employment to civil defence and arms control. Documents produced by and/or for the British Army, the Royal Air Force (RAF), the Royal Navy, the Corps of Royal Marines, the Territorial Army, cadet forces, and the Ministry of Defence are included.
